Gout Food Analysis

Gout Food Analysis pages described certain nutritional information about food.

This allows you to search for any type of food easily.

Food pages are linked to relevant gout articles and recipes, so you can quickly find all the gout related facts about any food item.

Basic Data for each food item is taken from the USDA Nutrition Database. Each page lists the description of the food first, followed by a selection of nutrition values.

I include a PRAL calculation to estimate the acid / alkaline load of each food. I explain this calculation on my PRAL Food Tables Introduction page.

I also include two key factors from NutritionData.com - Fullness Factor and Inflammation Factor.

In addition to this basic data, each food item is categorized as follows: -

PRAL Groups

Mix foods from different groups for healthy variety, but make the overall PRAL total negative (alkaline). The groups are:

Very Alkaline
PRAL less than -10. The best foods to alkalize your body, but you need acid foods as well.
Quite Alkaline
PRAL between -10 an -0.1.
Neutral
PRAL between -0.1 and 0.1.
Quite Acid
PRAL between 0.1 and 10.
Very Acid
PRAL over 10. Good for gout in small portions, neutralized with sufficient alkalizing foods.
