Having had gout for a few years now i found out that it was Lager that was my main culprit for bringing it on severerly.
After reading articles on purines i swapped over totally to Dry Cider.
Now i dont want to condone binge drinking but i do like to go out once a week at least and i do consume enough to probably call it 'binge' drinking but since moving over to Cider i have had very few twinges of gout and only ever need one indometacin tablet to make it go away when i actually DO get a twinge.
My diet hasnt changed…and i pretty much eat anything apart from the main gout givers like oily fish etc.
Occasionally i will drink wine, especially red which sometimes triggers my gout but more than likely just gives me a bad head…so now i have moved over to white wine which, to be honest hasnt as yet triggered it.
MY Cider trial has been going now for two years and to me, a success.
This might be of interest to someone else?
