Gout Forum : please please someone help me out with my gout

I need help badly!!! Dont know what to do anymore, I have the worst knee gout ever, I already have a cortisone shot and it help me a little, but still i am in pain and swelling..
You haven’t given us much to go on, but I think first thing to do is go back to the doc who gave you cortisone, and ask for his advice.
Was it a rheumatologist you went to? They are always the best people to see for gout. Most general practitioners simply do not have the expertise and current knowledge for handling gout, especially severe gout.
Other general advice is:
Keep joint raised above the heart when resting
Keep joint warm, but also try ice treatment. See my gout remedies page for more information.
Try to keep moving - this is difficult when it hurts, but I find that swollen joints go quicker with gentle exercise than if you keep immobile.
