    hello there having gout attack last one was 4 years ago kept at bay by keeping hydrated and celery seed,got dehydrated and ate too much fish and got another mild in pain but arms hands and knee, started monitering uric acid start 8.1 will do weekly so even when attack is over i can get acid level down to 5-6,has any one used purixa as i am reluctant to start allpurino ,thanks paul

    Hi Paul,

    Best to aim for 5 or lower. 6 is acceptable if medical reasons prevent you from going lower, but it gives little safety margin for daily fluctuations. If you have to settle for 6, be careful to keep limbs well wrapped and generally avoid exposure to cold.
