Why is everyone jumping all over floridatrees? They weren?t being malicious, just conveying their feelings. I have had some issue with navigation, just never expressed it. It doesn?t mean I am not thankful for this site. Some of us aren?t as savvy nor technical when it comes to these things.

    ?

Aren?t we all here with a ?common cause? A very painful and frustrating health issue? Shouldn?t we be trying to help each other instead of getting upset with someone for being honest with the way they are feeling. I read nothing mean spirited at all in their post.

    ?

There are enough websites out there with people just waiting to pounce on others, I was hoping this one could be different.

My pain is a lot better, but hardly pain free. Still have the morning stiffness and there is ALWAYS a certain amount of pain. The only time I honestly feel completely pain free is at night when I take a few pain meds and have my feet up and massage one of my creams on my feet. If I just sit there, sometimes its bliss. My friends don?t understand why I am so anxious to get home sometimes, but that?s why.

thanks for the info guys. btw, i have been on 300mg allopurinol for 5 months and .6mg colcrys for about 2 months. i asked the doc if maybe i should move up to 1.2mg of colcrys since it seems low and he has not gotten back with me yet.

Okay, after reading this thread I have a few questions.

    ?

I thought that once you had your uric acid level in check (below 6.5 or so?) that you were pretty safe to not form NEW crystals? If that?s the case, why should we strive to make it even lower? I am not doubting anybody, just trying to learn. Mine was 4.6 last time it was checked and 5.4 before that. BUT, I still have major pain. Its like everything is great, EXCEPT the crystals are not dissolving for some reason. Also, the pain has also started a bit in my knee and wrist (it has always been in my feet). Are these new crystals or old ones moving around? I don?t understand how I could be generating new crystals with a low UA level. BTW, I haven?t eaten red meat, fish or seafood in 3 months ? drink tons of water and maybe have a drink a week.

    ?

Again, sorry for the rambling. New here and anxious to learn and understand why this living hell has enveloped me.

thanks so much for your post. im not glad your in pain, but you are the first person i have talked to that has had it this long. does yours come and go? because mine does, but all in the same day. there is always some degree of pain, just its worse in the morning, etc. as in i can barely walk the first half hour or so. i really dont think its in my genes or caused by anything specific. just 10 years of completely insane eating and drinking and then a few years ago i got shin splints and stopped working out, gained a bunch of weight and then bam! this thing. this thing that i cannot describe to friends or relatives. none of them truly understand. they think if i prop it up i can come over or meet them for lunch any time without a fuss. at times i think i am almost more frustrated than anything else. again, thanks for your response. just these few posts have helped some. i appreciate this forum and hope you feel better soon.
